This is the first day of gardening and i have just joined this wiki. 13/7/2010 Last week i have enjoyed gardening. I learnt a lot about compost and manure. On Friday I had fun pulling out the cabbages and the red carrots. I had never done gardening in my life and its good fun. Today i learnt about all the different types of equipments used in the garden and some of them i had no idea what they were and what they do. But now i kinda know what they are. 20/7/2010 Last week gardening class we got to put plants in pots and fill them with soil. I worked with Jiehan and Kalinda. I learnt about how much soil is needed to fill up the pot and when we place the plant we have to carefully push it down. After all that my group went to the school garden and watered our own plants, which was fun (: 23/7/2010 On friday we did potting outside and i used the secateurs to cut the ends of this plant and replanted it. This was good because i have never used the secateurs. We potted all these plants and i can only remember the poppy and wild iris and even the thyme. After all that Jiehan and I both pulled out a cabbage out of the garden patch and took it home 30/7/2010 Today in class we read about Budget Cuts. I never knew that people are aloud to use hormone gels to help the root of the plants grow and i didn't know that it even existed. I also learnt how to replant them and separate them. 3/8/2010 A few weeks ago when it was hot, i watered some plants and also planted some potatoes and basel and other stuff. I also planted strawberries and Jiehan helped me put the mould all around the strawberries, so the strawberries can grow freshly and not be yuk.
This week we have been working on our plant posters and it was okay. The plant i have chosen was Lambs Ears and they are pretty when they are big. I have learnt a lot of information about them for example, you have to plant them during summer because, if you plant them in winter the can die. 29/9/10
Last week on friday i watered the plants with Jiehan. It was fun because it was a hot day and at the end of the session Sue, Denzel, Jiehan and I we all had a water fight.
On saturday we had a plant sale, i couldn't make it because i had to go and buy a dress for my cousins wedding :( I heard we made $110 dollars which is good.
We are going on a excursion on Friday the 10th and i can't wait because we are going somewhere where i have never been and i have a feeling which it is going to be good (:
